This explanation really helped me to understand the essay format a lot better, it’s simple and straightforward that I don’t have any issues trying to wrap my head around it. I usually take such a long time forming ideas that when it comes to the essay I’m lost.

The main components of your intro will be your hook (the first sentence that grabs your readers’ attention), your background context (to orient the reader), and your thesis statement (to set the reader up for exactly what you will discuss in the text).
