According to the author, penning a definition essay would involve trying to define a particular idea from a multitude of angles and perspectives, taking into account varied opinions and socio-cultural contexts.
Taking ‘beauty’ as its exploratory theme, it proceeded to break up the subject matter into three parts: the introduction, the body paragraphs and the conclusion. But somewhere along the way, I feel it gets too wrapped up in defining ‘beauty’, and loses sight of its main aim—that is, to define a ‘definitive article’. In trying to provide an illustrative example of a ‘definitive essay’, it ends up being transformed entirely into an example itself. The whole essay reads like one giant illustrative example.
